Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman is a skilled and experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a background in traumatology and arthroscopic and joint surgery.
He graduated from Sylhet M. A. G. Osmani Medical College in 2002. After completing MBBS, he pursued his specialization in Orthopaedic Surgery, earning D. Ortho from the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in 2008. He further advanced his qualification with MS(Ortho) from the same institute in 2018.
Dr. Mahfuzur is eager to expand his expertise through international fellowships and training. He completed Fellowship training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine from Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India in 2023. Additionally, he undertook an AO Fellowship training in Traumatology from John Hunter Hospital, New Castle, Australia in 2013 which enhanced his skills in the treatment of trauma patients. His pursuit of advanced orthopaedic education also include AO Basic Training in 2010 from Dhaka followed by AO Advanced Training in Traumatology in 2015 from India and AO Masters Training in Lower Limb Trauma in 2024 from Malaysia.
In 2012, Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman joined
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), where he has made
significant contributions both in clinical practice and academic training.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty
Division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is involved in treating
patients as well as teaching the future orthopaedic surgeons.
