Prof. Dr. ATM. Khalilur Rahman passed MBBS from Dhaka University in 1980. In 1983 he obtained his Diploma Anesthesiology (DA) from Dhaka University. He did his fellowship training (Cardiac Anesthesia and Intensive Care) from 1985 to 1986 at the National Cardiovascular Center (NCVC), Osaka, Japan. He completed his Diploma in Paediatric Cardiac Anesthesia from Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital –London UK in 1997. After that, he completed his post-graduate training in Cardiac Anesthesia at New York Medical College Hospital, New Work USA.

He is the Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiac Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit, National Heart Foundation and Research Institute, Mirpur, Dhaka Bangladesh. He is the President of Bangladesh Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiologists (BACTA). He is the Executive Editor of Bangladesh journal of cardiovascular & Thoracic Anesthesiology (BJCTA). He is the Director of Green Life Medical College & Hospital and Executive Director of Green Life Heart Centre. He is the board member of the Asian Society of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists (ASCA).

Prof. Dr. ATM. Khalilur Rahman Life Member of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Bangladesh Society of Anesthesiologists (BSA), Bangladesh Society of Cardiology, Indian Association of Cardiac Anesthesiologists (IACTA), Bangladesh Association of Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Anesthesiologists (BACTA) and Member of Bangladesh Society of Pain.

He was awarded “National Heart Foundation Award” in 2015. He has around 40 Scientific Publications.
