Professor (Dr.) Bidhan C. Das graduated from Dhaka Medical College in 1992. After finishing internship, He was interested in hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, in which he specialized. He got the scholarship of Ministry of Education and Culture, Japan in 1995. Under this program he completed PhD Program in Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery in 2000 from Mie University School of Medicine, Mie, Japan. In 2005, He completed the fellowship in General, Surgery (FCPS) from Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons.
He is practicing General, Laparoscopic and Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic Surgery, since 2001. He is doing Whipple's, distal pancreatectomy, total pancreatectomy, lateral pancreatolithotomy, pseudocyst operation, necrosectomy, cholecystectomy (Lap/open), extended cholecystectomy, biliary reconstruction, hepatectomies, gastrectomies (partial, total), splenectomy, hemicolectomy (Rt / Lt), small bowel surgery, breast operation, hernia operations, anal and perianal operations and emergency and other general surgical problems during last 20 years of his surgical carrier. He worked in different Medical Colleges, corporate Hospitals and Medical Universities in home and abroad. He has been trained in liver transplantation in Japan and India. He published more than 40 original articles in different prestigious journal of the world. His next goal is to perform both living and deceased donor liver transplantation in Bangladesh, to publish more good quality papers in Indexed journals and share my knowledge with the budding surgeons.
