Prof. Dr. Md. Moarraf Hossen, former Director cum Professor in National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital, Mohakhali,  Dhaka.

In January 1985 he completed his MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College. In July 1990 he completed his DMRT in the field of clinical oncology from BSMMU the then IPGM&R (Institute of Post Graduate Medicine & Research) and In July 1994 he completed FCPS in radiotherapy in the field of clinical oncology from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS), Dhaka.

He has done his training twice (1995 & 2004) in the field of clinical oncology from Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital Mumbai India. Later in 2006, he did his training at Regional Cancer Center, Kerala, India. Then in the same year, he did his training in the National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore.

In 2011 he become Professor and Head of the Department of Radiotherapy (clinical Oncology) in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. In 2014 he became Director cum professor and the Project Director in National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital Dhaka. After successfully completing the projects in June 2019, later in December 2019, he retired from (NICRH) as the Director cum Professor. For several years he was the convenor of FCPS Radiotherapy (Clinical oncology) examination. He was the chairman of the faculty of Radiology Imaging and Radiotherapy (Clinical oncology) in Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS Dhaka).

He was a country representative of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He has 17 published articles both nationally and internationally. He attended a lot of national and international seminars in clinical oncology and also is a full member of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and an Associate member of ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology).

In his 34 years of Government service life, he was engaged in the field of clinical oncology for 31 years holding the chair of R/S radiotherapy (clinical oncology), Assistant Professor, Medical Oncology, Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor-Radiotherapy (clinical oncology) in different medical colleges and NICRH, Dhaka. He was the pioneer and part-time consultant, Clinical Oncology of Apollo Hospital, Dhaka for last 14 years.
