Dr. Abul Fazal Mohammad Helal Uddin is an Associate Professor of Medicine. He graduated from Chittagong Medical College. He got his training in general medicine at Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. He was an Assistant Registrar of Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease, Dhaka. He also served as a registrar for Gastroenterology in Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital for 2 years. Dr. Helal is a specialist in the treatment of Acute Medicine cases as well as routine internal medicine cases.

Dr. Helal Uddin is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London, and American College of Physicians. He was an integral part of the team establishing Double Balloon Enteroscopy in a Government Medical College first time in SSMC &MH. He is currently working as Associate Professor in SSMC &MH in the Department of Medicine which is the oldest medical institution in the country. He is keenly working in improving medical education and deeply involved with the training of junior colleagues the fine art of acute medicine and internal medicine. He also participates actively in national and international conferences.
