Professor (Dr) R. R. Kairy passed MBBS in 1977 from Sylhet Medical College under Chittagong University. Worked as Assistant Registrar, Registrar in Surgery Department of Sylhet Medical College Hospital from 1978 – 1980 after internship of 1 year.

Passed M.S. (Orth) in January 1983 from the then RIHD (now named as NITOR) Dhaka. Worked in Noakhali General Hospital from 1983 – 1985, as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor till 2013 at NITOR, Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Rajshahi Medical College. Retired from government service in 2013. Since Then working as Consultant in Orthopaedic at Green Life Medical College Hospital.

Post graduate training: Training in Hand Surgery Department of National University Hospital (NUH Singapore) for 6 months in 1988.

Organized Hand Surgery Subspecialty for the first time in Bangladesh in 2006, and was the founder Precedent of BDSSH (Bangladesh Society for Surgery of Hand) for 12 years from 2006 – 2018.

Organized Paediatric Orthopaedic and founded Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of Bangladesh (POSB) in 2012 and President of the Society till today.

Published more than 20 Scientific papers in National and International journals.
