Professor Dr. Quazi Rakibul Islam was graduated as MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) in the year 1984. After completion of 1 (One) year In-Service Training (IST) he joined in Bangladesh Health Service as Medical Officer (MO) in the year 1986. As MO of Upazila Health Complex he served the people of Kumarkhali and Mirpur Upazila of Kustia, Mohammadpur upazila of Magura Districts A reputed physician up to 1992. During this period of time he also worked as a Divisional Trainer (Khulna Division) of Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

Then from 1992, Dr. Rakib started his journey in the field of Paediatrics (Child Health) and worked as Medical Officer, Assistant Registrar and Registrar of Paediatrics up to 1996. During these periods he worked at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital and then at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In the year 2002 he completed post-graduate degree Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and he also obtained Neonatal Case Management Training from BIRDEM and sub-specialty training on Paediatrics Nephrology from BSMMU.

After post-graduation he worked at Adhunik Sadar Hospital Magura and Rajbari as a Child Specialist, and then as Research Assistant at Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital, Dhaka. In May 2010 he was promoted to Assistant professor of Paediatrics. From this time, he had delivered his knowledge, skill and attitude to the undergraduate and post-graduate students at Institute of Child & Mother Health (ICMH) and Sir Salimullah Medical College up to September 2013. Then he took self-retirement from Government service and joined at Green Life Medical College (GMC) on 15^th September 2013 as Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Paediatrics. In the year 2018, he had been promoted to the post of Professor of Paediatrics at GMC, and holding the same designation till now. During his long (about 30 years) journey in the field of Paediatrics at different Government and Non- Government hospitals, Medical Colleges and Institute he obtained very good knowledge, skills and attitudes for managing many critical and different category of sick neonates, children and adolescents.

At GMC, with departmental activities he performed his responsibilities as President of CME Committee and Member Secretary of “Research Cell” with full integrity. Now he is performing the responsibilities as Focal Person of Teacher’s training program on “Teaching Methodology & Assessment” as organized by Center for Medical Education (CME). He had 17 publications in different reputed medical journals. Very recently, due to wide recognition of his research works, on behalf of the Editorial Board of Americal Journal of Paediatrics he has been invited to join with them as one of the Editorial Board Members / Reviewers.
