Dr. Quayuma Khanam (Keya) is a dedicated medical professional with over 16 years of experience in women’s health. She specializes in cervical and breast cancer screening, colposcopy, and precancer treatment techniques such as LEEP and thermocoagulation. She is highly skilled in performing VIA and CBE in both outpatient settings and community health camps.
Dr. Khanam has held key clinical and programmatic roles at Bangladesh Medical University, including Medical Officer (Colposcopist) and Clinical Coordinator. Her responsibilities included clinical coordination, organizing training programs, maintaining digital health records (MIS-DHIS2), and working closely with national and international partners like UNFPA. Her academic background includes an MBBS, a Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography, and an MPH (thesis ongoing).
She has received advanced training in cervical cancer prevention, early detection, and management from Nargis Dutt Memorial Cancer Hospital, Barshi, Maharashtra, India (2017), as well as training on eResources and online research techniques under the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project at BMU (2010). Additionally, she completed postgraduate training in gynecology and obstetrics at both Bangladesh Medical University (2007) and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (2004), and undertook Comprehensive Menstrual Regulation training at RH STEP Clinic, DMCH (2005).
Her research work includes publications in BMJ Open and
national conferences, focusing on cervical lesion detection and community
awareness. She is a founding member of the Bangladesh Society for Colposcopy
and Cervical Pathology.
